about
Over the pandemic, I decided to learn about the inner workings of synthesizers. A friend of mine who is a tech kindly took me under his wing and started teaching me. He is always fixing cool old synths, and one day I saw him fixing a minimoog.
The minimoog is monophonic, and the timbral qualities are rich and varied. What you hear on this track is not one take but eight separate takes that I did one after the other. After my initial take, I kept improvising until I basically had a digital 8-track recording. It felt very trance-like playing this piece. I named it after a place where I felt a similar meditative feeling.
Many thanks to Jun & the minimoog for inspiring me.
